Navigation Aids
- All pages on this site include a consistent set of global navigation links.
- Visual clues have been used in the main navigation menu i.e. if your on the homepage then the homepage link in the main navigation menu will be highlighted in orange.
Links
- Many links have title attributes which describe the link in greater detail, unless the text of the link already fully describes the target (such as the headline of an article or name of a person).
- Links are written to make sense out of context. Some web browsers (such as JAWS, Home Page Reader, Lynx, and Opera) can extract the list of links from the current page and let users navigate the site using the list.
- There are no links that open new windows without warning.
- There are no "javascript: pseudo-links." All links can be followed in any browser, even if scripting is turned off.
Images
- All content images used in this site include descriptive
ALTattributes. Purely decorative graphics include nullALTattributes.
Visual Design
- This site uses CSS for visual layout.
- If your browser or browsing device does not support CSS style sheets at all, the content of each page is still readable.
- Relative font sizes are used throughout the site. This means that the text can made larger or smaller in many browsers by changing the browser's text size settings i.e. In Internet Explorer, select View, then Text Size, and then your preferred size. In Netscape select View, then Text Zoom, and then your preferred percentage size.
